Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Lemmelingo

1. What languages does Lemmelingo support?

Lemmelingo currently supports 5 major languages: English, German, Spanish, Italian, and French. Each language has thousands of curated learning materials including videos, grammar guides, and exercises.

2. How do the assessments work?

Assessments are 10-15 minute tests that measure your fluency, grammar, vocabulary, sentence complexity, and error patterns. Results are mapped to CEFR levels (A0-C1) and track your progress over time. You can take assessments as often as you like to update your level and get personalized suggestions.

3. What are CEFR levels?

CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) is an internationally recognized standard for measuring language proficiency. Lemmelingo tracks from A0 (absolute beginner) through C1 (advanced proficiency). A0-A2 are basic levels, B1-B2 are intermediate, and C1 is advanced.

4. Is Lemmelingo free to use?

Lemmelingo offers free trial and is premium-only by design. You can track time, take unlimited assessments, advanced analytics, personalized suggestions, and access to the full curated materials library.

5. How accurate are the level assessments?

Our assessments use AI-powered analysis to evaluate multiple dimensions of language proficiency including fluency, grammar accuracy, vocabulary range, sentence complexity, and error patterns. While not a replacement for official certification exams, our assessments provide reliable tracking of your progress over time.

6. Can I track study time from other apps and resources?

Yes! Lemmelingo is designed to track all your language learning activities, regardless of the source. You can log time spent on apps like Duolingo, with tutors, reading books, watching videos, or any other learning method across 5 categories: Studying, Listening, Reading, Interacting, and Producing.

7. What is goal forecasting?

Goal forecasting analyzes your current level, target level, study pace, and assessment results to provide realistic completion date estimates. As you log study time and take assessments, the forecast updates to show your projected path to fluency.

8. How do smart suggestions work?

After taking assessments, Lemmelingo identifies your weakest areas (grammar, vocabulary, fluency, complexity, error patterns) and recommends targeted materials from our curated library using AI-powered vector search. You can access relevant videos, exercises, and grammar guides with one tap to focus on areas needing improvement.

9. Do I need an internet connection to use Lemmelingo?

You need an internet connection to sync your data, take assessments, and access online materials. However, basic time tracking can be done offline, and your data will sync when you reconnect.

10. How is Lemmelingo different from other language learning apps?

Unlike traditional language learning apps that teach through specific methods, Lemmelingo is a comprehensive progress tracking and assessment platform. It works alongside any learning method you choose—apps, books, tutors, classes—providing objective CEFR measurement, time tracking across 5 categories, analytics, and intelligent material recommendations to help you reach fluency faster.
